Juan Ayuso is not afraid. At 20 years old he has already been on the podium of the Vuelta a España and he is clear that he is going to take risks in the last mountain stages to try to improve his current fourth place:
"I already got the podium last year and this year I see myself closer to the first, more solid in the race and that I am taking a step forward. That's why if I have to risk my fourth place by trying, I'm going to do it, even if I end up fifth later. or sixth. That wouldn't be the end of the world, I'd rather it happen than not try and then think about what would have happened."
Regarding the strength of the Jumbo-Visma team, he assures that he sees Sepp Kuss as very strong and that he believes that he will mesh well with Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard:
"It's hard for me to believe that there are going to be problems between them and I see it as logical that Vingegaard and Roglic would like a teammate who has helped them win the GIro d'Italia and the Tour de France this year to win."
The most curious thing was how he described the iron marking to which he is being subjected by Primoz Roglic: "I stop to pee and I have him behind me."

🇪🇸 Juan Ayuso 🗣️ "In 2022 I reached the podium, but right now I'm closer to the leader (Kuss). I feel I made a step forward this year. That's the reason I have to go for it. It wouldn't be the end of the world to end 6th. I want to attack." #LaVuelta23 (Ciclo21, 📸 Cor Vos)
